【 candidate 】
1.a person who wants to be chosen for something :
When the director leaves, there will be a lot of candicates for her job.
2.a person who takes an examination.
【 ceasefire 】
an agreement to stop fighting for a period of time, especially
so that a more permanent agreement can be made:
a ceasefire agreement
They have called a temporary ceasefire in the region.
【 civilian 】
anyone who is not a member of the military forces or the police:
Many innocent civilians were killed during the war.
【 cheat 】
to behave in a dishonest way in order to win or to get an advantage,
especially in a competition, game, or examination:
He had cheated in the test by using a calculator.
Don't look at my cards - that's cheating.
